Who we are

Hi, I’m Jill, one of the founders of Threads. I’ve spent over 12 years working with young adults with disabilities at the DCSD Bridge Program. Before that, I worked as an Educational Assistant at ThunderRidge High School and spent four years at the Center for Disabilities Services in New York supporting individuals in a residential care setting.

I grew up in New York and have always been passionate about helping people build independence and meaningful connections in their community. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family. My husband, Andrew, and I are raising our two kids, Eoin and Zephrine, alongside our two dogs, Remus and Bellatrix, and our cat, Minerva.

Threads was created from my passion for supporting individuals and families while building a community where everyone feels valued, capable, and connected.

Hi, I’m Kari, a founder of Threads. For the past two and a half decades, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside children and adults with special needs as a teacher, mentor, and advocate.  My work has taken me from the classroom to dance studios and treatment centers, always with the goal of fostering independence and joy.

When I am not working, I find my own balance of nature-whether I’m hiking the rugged trails of Colorado or enjoying the quiet stillness of a Minnesota lake in the summer.
